The LRC AI Working Group is convening Oct. 9th at 3pm in person at the Language Resource Center and on Zoom (Meeting ID 203 508 3989). 

On the agenda:

  1. AI Temperature Check: how are your students using AI in their language study, how are they feeling about it, and what use are you making of it in your classes in Fall 2026?
     
  2. Discussion of MIT's brief and readable report, "AI Use in Teaching, Learning, and Research Training." You can view it here and read or skim it in just a few minutes: https://aiandeducation.mit.edu/report/
     
  3. Demonstration of how to set up a free local AI on your own laptop, with no technical expertise required. Discussion of potential benefits and drawbacks.


If you happen to have access to an M1 or greater Mac laptop, please bring it with you to the workshop.
