Next Friday, November 21, the Language Resource Center is looking forward to hosting Deans Alexis Abramson, Sandra Goldmark, and Willie Williams of the Columbia Climate School for an informal conversation on the intersections between climate and language study.
We will learn about their current work and their perspectives on how language educators can potentially contribute to the School’s mission, particularly to the building of knowledge across its three pillars: earth systems and sustainability; social systems and justice; and analytics for action. This conversation offers our language community an opportunity to learn more about the Climate School, as well as envision new ways to connect our classrooms with the broader goals of climate engagement and sustainability.
Francisca Aguiló Mora and Xuxu Song will participate in the conversation as well, sharing how Columbia's language faculty are innovating and forging interdisciplinary connections with the field of climate and sustainability.
